Mission Statement
To support and improve the quality and availability of care for the young people of Hawaii.
The organizational vision is to provide families with information and resources needed when they are looking for quality child care. Support the professional development of caregivers through training, improve the quality of care they are providing and better understand the needs of the market. Provide data and services to the community to maximize the quality of the care-giving experience and increase the number of quality caregivers.

Cash for Caring Program Goal
Give family care providers the incentive and the financial ability to invest in improving their child care programs by providing reimbursement grants to cover the cost of improvements in their family child care business.

Early Childhood Education Scholarship Program Goal
Provide reimbursement grants to cover costs of higher education classes in Early Childhood Education. The program gives people the incentive and financial ability to invest in improving their professional development if they are already in the field, while giving newcomers the incentive and financial ability to join in.

blockquoteThe Cash for Caring grant has helped me join the Scholastic Book Club and I will not receive children’s books each month to share with the keiki in my care. I look forward to building literacy in reading and building their own little library. ~ Melissa K.M. Lindsey

blockquoteRobin Fisher, a Family Child Care Provider pursuing her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education (ECE), has used the program multiple times to help pay for some of her Early Childhood Education classes. She has increased her understanding of the concepts needed for children to learn and creates effective lesson plans. She is proud of successfully transitioning a child with special needs from her program to a special education preschool.
