Mission Statement
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. We help alleviate human suffering by doing the above.
Disaster Response and Preparedness in Hawaii County Program Goal
To reduce the harsh physical and emotional distress that prevents people from meeting their own basic needs and promote the recovery of individuals as well as provide the Big Island community with knowledge and skills to better prepare themselves and others prior to emergencies and disasters.
Being in the Certified Nurse Aide Program has helped me to break out of my shell and get to know people. I love the feeling of helping those who are in need.
