Cultivating Peacebuilding

This month’s speaker is José Barzola on the topic “Cultivating Peacebuilding: Building Compassion and Empathy in Our Communities.”
“Cultivating peacebuilding refers to the process of actively fostering peace and conflict transformation within communities, societies, and global contexts,” says Barzola.
In this talk, we will cover both the individual and collective efforts necessary to create conditions where conflicts can be addressed constructively, differences can be managed respectfully, and long-term peace can be established.
José Barzola, MBA, creates social change through nonviolence and focusing on issues of belonging and connection. A higher education administrator with over 20 years of experience and success, Barzola has also been an affiliate faculty teaching courses at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
